Cassie's Season Ends
Cassie's team lost on Tuesday 5-1 to Bemidji. Now maybe she can concentrate on getting her license.
Micaela has a U10 tournament this weekend and Brenna has a couple games as well.

Pictures
Okay, I only have one picture on my computer at work so here it is. Yes, it is Micaela but the name is wrong on the pic. Our other hockey family, the Storms took this picture and I have to say it is my favorite. A friend of another hockey family is doing logos for the team and this was just an example, hence the reason the name is wrong. Hazeldines, is this acceptable so far? j/k. You can also click on the picture to expand it and get all the details of Micaela skating. i.e. her head is up, puck on the stick, her skates crossed over.

And the season continues
Well, Cassie's team won their quarter final tonight 6-3 against Brainerd so they play again tomorrow in Alexandria against Bemidji. We will be car pooling with our other hockey family, the Storms, for the game. Brenna wants to stay behind with Grandma and Grandpa which is just fine with Mom and Dad since she just watches movies on Mom's Ipod through the entire game anyways.
Micaela's U10 team played in Crookston on Sunday. It was a great game 4-2 in favor of Moorhead. Micaela had a hat trick (3 goals in one game). I believe the total is now six. That is, the number of tournaments she is signed up for this summer. Four are in the cities (Bootsie and Joe, you need to buy a bigger house!), one in Moorhead and one at The Ralph in Grand Forks. I love that rink. Can't wait to win the lottery so I can finally built my PINK arena complete with pink ice and a pink zamboni. Oh yeah, the zamboni driver has to be a girl also. Any applicants?
Brennanator played hockey on Saturday on a full sheet of ice. Quite a bit different from the 1/3 ice she has been playing on. Andy thinks she got gassed out and just started to watch everyone else skate by her. She loves full ice but does not get to play it often. They are kinda working that age group into that type of game. B also played goalie and absolutely loved it. She likes to show off by going down into the splits with all the pads on. Her reaction time is a little slow but she will get better with practice. We might even have to put her in goalie camp this summer.

And more hockey............
Micaela's U10 Team had a tournament in Roseau this weekend. We lost the first game in a double overtime, 9 person shootout. The second game, we won 2-1 with Micaela scoring the game winning goal. The third game was another nail biter that also ended up in overtime. But, we managed to pull that one out winning 4-3 for Consolation Champions. Micaela's friend Brianna, our goalie, did a wonderful job all weekend. She really did her best and out shined alot of other goalies.
Andy is now fielding calls for MN Elites and Super Series. These are just two of the many tournaments he will be coaching in the next few months. He is on the phone from the time he comes home until he goes to bed. Cassie has even complained that he is on the phone more than she is! Cassie has her last home game this Saturday against Brainerd. She has made a lot of great friends but I think she is ready for the season to be over. Now that she will have a little more time on her hands, maybe she can finally break down and get her license.
I started my new job at NDSU as a Police Dispatcher a couple weeks ago and it is going really well. I work days one month and then evenings the next. Right now I am on days and let me tell you, after working nights for so long, this day stuff is for the birds. I get up around 6:15 am and have to leave the house by 7:15 am in order to get myself and the girls to school on time. Hence the reason I really want Cassie to get her license. The sooner, the better. And morning traffic, I can't believe how many idiot drivers there are out there. Okay, yes I can being in law enforcement for the past six years. I work with a great group of people and the atmosphere is much more relaxed. No more medicals, barking dogs or unlocks. Yeah God.
