MN SuperSeries

Micaela participated in MN SuperSeries this weekend. She started off a little slow on Friday morning not being the hockey superstar that she is. She played for Team North with fellow U10 teammates Brianna (goalie), Danielle (defense) and Taylor (center). Team North beat the East on Friday morning 3-1, the West on Saturday morning 2-1 and later that evening the South 6-0. On Sunday, the girls were in the Championship game where they lost 4-1 to the West. We had a team meal at Red Robin on Saturday in between games that gave the girls and parents a chance to interact off the ice with one another.
Andy was head coach for Team North. He really enjoys coaching hockey even though I make fun of him for being a wrestler and not a hockey player when he was younger.
This coming weekend, Micaela has another tournament in the cities, MN Elites. Andy is once again coaching.
Brenna and Cassie have been real good sports about going to the hockey tournaments and supporting Micaela. While it is hard to get Brenna up for the early morning games, Cassie is up and ready to assist Andy in the locker room with the team pep talk.
Cassie took her last driving lesson today. She takes her test on Wednesday morning and with a little luck, she will pass. Kinda scary for all of us. On one hand, I want her to get her license so the chauffering burden will be lifted a little off me, but then again, thinking of her driving in a vehicle with the other girls is kinda scary! Good Luck Cass.

Another Season Comes to an End

As you read in previous posts, Cassie's team ended their season a couple weeks ago. Micaela and Brenna ended theirs just this weekend. They each had their own jamboree. Micaela's team finished as consolation champs and Brenna's team ended in 10th place. Not that great of an end to an otherwise good season. Next up is the endless tournaments that Micaela is in starting at the end of March with the Minnesota Super Series.
Micaela and Brenna have both signed up to play ball this summer also. Micaela will be trying her luck at fastpitch U10 softball and Brenna will be playing baseball again. Micaela's favorite NHL player, Dave Christian is putting together a hockey camp this summer that the girls will also attend.
Brenna has expressed desire to return to gymnastics. She even went as far to say she would quit hockey to go to gymnastics! Both mom and dad shot her down on that one.
Cassie is going back to work this week at NDSU. She is looking forward to going to Florida for spring break and then earning her own money to buy a better car (the one Poppy bought is not good enough even though it is FREE).
